Skills Alliance for the Green, Digital and Social Transformation of the Energy Intensive Industries (Skills4EII)

Skills4EII builds on ESSA and SPIRE-SAIS to establish a cross-sector skills framework for Europe’s energy-intensive industries. It identifies regional and sectoral skill gaps, expands training in areas such as Industrial Symbiosis, AI and Industry 5.0, and strengthens national ecosystems through the HUB 5.0 platform to support a resilient, human-centric industry (2025-2028).

SKILLS4ELL – Skills for Energy-Intensive Industries in the Era of Low-Carbon and Circular Economy

The SKILLS4ELL project, funded under the Erasmus+ programme, aims to address the evolving skills needs of energy-intensive industries in the context of the green and digital transitions. As these sectors face increasing pressure to decarbonise and adopt circular economy practices, the project focuses on identifying skill gaps and developing targeted training solutions to support workforce transformation.

SKILLS4ELL brings together industry stakeholders, education and training providers, and research organisations to co-design innovative curricula and learning pathways. The project emphasises the development of competences related to resource efficiency, industrial symbiosis, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable production systems.

Through collaborative activities, pilot training programmes, and knowledge exchange, SKILLS4ELL supports the upskilling and reskilling of professionals across energy-intensive sectors. The project contributes to enhancing employability, strengthening industrial competitiveness, and enabling a just transition towards climate-neutral and circular industrial ecosystems in Europe.
