2. Scope and nature of the Platform

This Privacy Policy describes the manner in which Personal Data of users (the “Users”) accessing and browsing the platform/website [*] (the “Platform”) are processed.

The Platform is intended exclusively for informational and dissemination purposes and allows mere browsing of Content. Access does not, as a rule, require registration or the creation of an account and does not require Users to directly provide their Personal Data (for example, by filling out forms).

  • Technical Logs (Log Files): chronological records of operations and accesses useful for the proper functioning and security of the Platform;
  • Cookies and Online Identifiers: technical cookies, functionality cookies and analytics/statistical cookies (as provided in the Cookie Policy);
  • Data voluntarily provided by the User: data and content communicated by the User when contacting the Controller by email (e.g. for notifications or requests relating to the publication of content).

Data are processed for the following purposes:

  • to enable browsing and the proper functioning of the Platform;

5. Legal basis for processing

Processing is carried out, as applicable, on the following legal bases (Article 6 GDPR):

  • the User’s consent, where required for the use of specific categories of cookies and tracking tools (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), as provided in the Cookie Policy and related banner.

6. Processing methods and security measures

Processing is carried out by means of electronic and telematic tools, in compliance with the principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, data minimisation, purpose limitation and storage limitation, as well as integrity and confidentiality.

The Controller adopts appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risks, taking into account the state of the art, implementation costs and the nature, scope, context and purposes of processing.

7. Data retention

Data are retained for the period strictly necessary to achieve the purposes indicated above:

  • Navigation data and logs: retained for limited periods proportionate to technical and security needs;
  • Cookies: retained for the duration provided in the Cookie Policy and according to the User’s browser settings;
  • Email communications: retained for the time necessary to handle the request and, where applicable, for the purpose of protecting the Controller’s rights.

Data may be processed by individuals acting on behalf of the Controller, duly authorised, and by technical service providers (e.g. hosting, IT maintenance, analytics), appointed – where necessary – as data processors pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.

11. Personal data of third parties contained in user-requested content

Where Personal Data of third parties are published through the Platform (for example, within Content published upon request), responsibility and compliance obligations (including the collection of consents and/or the existence of another valid legal basis) shall remain with the party requesting publication, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
