This Jean Monnet Chair strengthens European studies at UCA by connecting industrial ecology and circular economy concepts with EU industrial policy. Supported by 20 institutions, it develops new interdisciplinary courses, hosts European PhD candidates and fosters stakeholder engagement. A key outcome is the establishment of the European Observatory for Biomaterials and Bio-based Materials (2022-2025).
JMC3E – Joint Master’s Curriculum in Circular Economy and Industrial Symbiosis
The JMC3E project (Joint Master’s Curriculum in Circular Economy and Industrial Symbiosis), funded under the Erasmus+ programme, aims to develop an innovative and interdisciplinary higher education programme focused on circular economy and industrial symbiosis. The project addresses the growing demand for advanced skills and knowledge needed to support the transition towards sustainable, resource-efficient, and low-carbon industrial systems.
JMC3E brings together universities, research institutions, and industry partners to design a joint master’s curriculum that integrates technical, environmental, economic, and managerial perspectives. The programme covers key topics such as resource efficiency, industrial symbiosis, sustainable production systems, and circular business models, combining theoretical learning with practical, industry-oriented experiences.
Through international collaboration and mobility, the project enhances academic excellence and fosters the development of highly skilled graduates قادر of driving innovation and sustainability in industrial and policy contexts. JMC3E contributes to strengthening higher education capacity in Europe and supports the alignment of academic programmes with the needs of the circular economy.
